Vicarious Living // Kirsten Alana

Perfect for when the travel bug kicks in, Vicarious Living is a weekly feature on the worlds best Travel Bloggers. With photos good enough to get lost in, it’s a good hit to get you by until you go travelling yourself.

This week is @kirstenalana, a former wedding photographer who now travels the world telling stories through her photos on Instagram. Kirsten takes absorbing photos of fascinating locations and writes captions to match, here are some of our favourites:

The @nationaltrust Chastleton House is on a narrow road in a stunning piece of property by a small village with subtlety rolling hills and trees that seem to be hundreds of years old but behind the main gate, it's all gorgeously preserved formality. It's a rare Jacobean country manor that was built between 1607 and 1612 by a prosperous wool merchant. Since it was kept in only one family until 1991, it remained essentially unchanged for nearly 400 years and is barely effected by the progress of the 21st century. I wasn't able to go inside but just staring at the outside took me back into my favorite Jane Austen novels and into the romance of shows like Downton Abbey. It was enough just to look. Hopefully one day I can return and go inside! #unexpectedGB
